I’m undertaking a short residency with Wenlock Poetry festival, which is set to be a brilliant weekend of poetry in this wonderful Shropshire Town. Here are some details on what I’ll be up to. You can check out the full programme here: http://www.wenlockpoetryfestival.org/
Artist and poet Stevie Ronnie presents the multi-media installation Brass Book and also brings his Nomadic Library to Much Wenlock.
Join Stevie on Saturday to make books to be added to the Library – all ages welcome, just drop in.
In Brass Book artist and writer Stevie Ronnie has created an installation that imagines a digital future for literature where the book is not replaced by, but rather enhanced by technology. The artwork comprises three traditionally bound books that have been embedded with technology and presented in a specially designed reading seat. The books contain poetry, video, audio, photography, performance, graphic illustration and text.
Stevie Ronnie’s Nomadic Library is a travelling library of artist’s books housed in a vintage suitcase. Originally commissioned by Book Apothecary and ISIS Arts in 2012, Nomadic Library has since travelled across the UK and Europe, growing as it moves. On Saturday 26th April visitors to the library are invited to join Stevie to make two books: one which can be added to a special Wenlock Poetry Festival section in the Nomadic Library and one to take home. All ages are welcome and no experience necessary.
