On Saturday 13th May I will be delivering a poetic tour of level 3 of the Rodney Graham exhibition at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. The tour will also act as the launch of my latest book Self Portrait as Someone Else – a pamphlet of poems inspired by Rodney Graham’s visual art. The book was commissioned by BALTIC as part of my MRLA residency there. It is available for free and you can pick up a copy outside the galleries on level 3 and level 4 of the building.
For the commission I have also produced an edition of four artist’s books titled Reading Rodney Graham. The books contain two poems written in Braille, one in response to each level of the Rodney Graham exhibition. These books will be held at the entrance to the galleries on level 3 and 4 for the remainder of the Rodney Graham exhibition, which runs until the 11th June. A copy has also been added the BALTIC Artist Book Collection which is open to the public by appointment through the Library on level 2.
The tour will run from 3:15 – 3:45 pm and has been programmed as part of the Artist’s Book Market which is taking place there over the course of the weekend.
