2012 – 2014
A collaboratively produced artist book library housed in a modified vintage suitcase. The library was commissioned by the Book Apothecary and made in collaboration with a group of resident international artists and the local community of Wolsingham, County Durham during Nomadic Village UK. The case was modified by designer / maker Nick James and the work was toured across Europe to Allenheads / Barnard Castle / Wolsingham / Preston (UK); Larroque / Cuges les Pins (France); Hallein, Schmiede / Graz / Wien (Austria) in a caravan which was converted into a mobile gallery by the Austrian artist Klaus Maehring. This work was made with support from ISIS arts and Book Apothecary.
Nomadic Library continues to grow and it has been presented as a participatory artwork in Dunbar during my residency with North Light Arts in 2013 and at Wenlock Poetry Festival, 2014. Work made during the 2013 Make Books/ Borrow Books residency with Gateshead Mobile Library service has also been incorporated into the library.
