The Secret Loves of Objects Part I: Object Network
The first in a series of audio / visual installations exploring the voices of objects and the way in which literature is presented and experienced. Object Network was designed for and shown at the digital media art exhibition Render10. Audio recordings of poems were implanted into three pieces of redundant technology: A telephone, a musical typewriter and a ZX Spectrum computer. Each poem was written from the point of view of the object that contained it. The lines of the poems shuffled, both electronically as audio tracks on an mp3 player and physically as a set of printed postcards, generating an unique performance each time the poem was heard or read.
