I have just received confirmation that Robert Teed and Paula Jackson at The New School House Gallery in York have been successful in securing funding for a series of artists residencies in and around the city of York. I am delighted to to have been asked to undertake a residency as part of this exciting programme which promises engaged and engaging art from John Newling, Delaine and Damian Le Bas and Catherine Sutcliffe-Fuller.

I will be the PH1 artist in residence in November / December 2014 and although we are still ironing out the details  it is looking like I could be based at Clifford’s Tower, also known as The Eye of York, a tower situated in the centre of York Castle that was built by William the Conqueror. The history of the place is fascinating and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with the public and the York Castle team to make new work in the place where Henry VIII used to publicly display the dead bodies of his enemies!

Bursaries are available for artists of any discipline that would like to collaborate with me (or any of the other artists involved) in the PH1 programme – full details for the call are available by downloading a copy of the application form from the New School House Gallery website.

Click here for a direct link to the form (word document).

The deadline for email applications is Saturday 28th June at 5pm. Selected artists will receive a bursary of £300 and the use of studio space at The New School House Gallery.
